Respite Care
Respite care provides temporary relief for a primary caregiver, enabling you to take a much-needed break from the demands of caregiving a sick, aging, or disabled family member. It can be arranged for just an afternoon or for several days or weeks. Care can be provided at home, in a healthcare facility, or at an adult day center. In addition to offering a break for the caregiver, respite care can also help the senior by letting him or her interact with someone other than the primary caregiver in a safe and supportive environment. Respite caregivers can help the senior complete daily activities like housework or cooking, personal hygiene, mental stimulation or just offer companionship.
